The first official, full-length trailer for Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is finally here following a week of promo that included the first poster for the movie. The film has been in production for quite some time now as Eggers has been attached to this project for the better part of a decade – essentially since he broke onto the scene with The Witch in 2015.
Eggers’ Nosferatu is described as a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the titular terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake. It is set to release in theaters on December 25, 2024. This is the acclaimed director’s first movie since The Northman in 2022.
I’ve liked each of Robert Eggers‘ previous three movies to varying degrees, and judging by the cast and trailer for Nosferatu, I imagine I’ll be in the bag for this one as well. His exacting, precise style is a perfect match for the sort of story he’s interested in. They wrestle you into submission with the dreary, desperate set design and voyeuristic cinematography.
The cast of Nosferatu includes Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Willem Dafoe and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
